The municipality in which you settle will send you an invoice for the transfer taxes, in the months following the signing of the deed of sale. This is calculated based on the sales price or evaluation, whichever is the highest.
- 0.50% of the first $ 50,000
- 1.00% of $ 50,000 to $ 250,000
- 1.50% of $ 250,000 to $ 500,000
- 2% of over $ 500,000 – This only applies to the island of Montreal
